WHY DOES PRÓIS USE A LAYERED APPROACH FOR ITS HUNTING APPAREL?
Layering can be a complicated issue. Main reason? Everyone’s tolerance to cold is different. We have customers who freeze when it’s 45° and some who won’t add a base layer until it’s 25°. There is no “one size fits all” system that appeals to all hunters and finding the optimal combination can require trial and error. Having more pieces in your layering arsenal gives you the flexibility to achieve the ultimate amount of comfort you want under a variety of conditions and temperatures. The other primary factor for hunters? Exertion level. Hunters generate heat during climbing, hiking, and stalking. Tree stand & Ground Blind hunters don’t move nor generate the same body heat. This is why PRÓIS believes in the power of layering your hunting gear to keep you comfortable and focused, in any hunting condition. By adjusting your layers, you can easily adapt to changing weather conditions, activity, and pursuit levels. PRÓIS has thoughtfully crafted their women’s hunting collection using a layered approach to help you achieve your unique and specific comfort level to regulate your body temperature and manage moisture effectively. With PRÓIS, you can perform at your best and let us worry about the rest.

PRÓ LAYERING TIPS
PRÓ–Double upon same size baselayers in frigid conditions. Olann Merino is our go-to for next to skin. To keep in the heat, add a second fleece layer or another merino piece.
CON – Poorly fitting base layers. Base layers should feel like a gentle hug. They are performance pieces
that wick moisture and help hold in heat. If your base layers are too big, they lose the ability to
perform as intended.
PRÓ– Considerthefollowingwhenselectingyourprimaryouterlayersuitsize.Ifyouwearmultiple
layers underneath, are in between sizes, or on the higher end of a size with plans to layer
underneath, consider sizing up your outer layer pieces by one size. Most outer wear pieces have
waist adjustments to accommodate.
CON – Double layering outer layer pieces. Hunters want to layer, but without a lot of movement
restricting layers. Getting the correct base layer in the right fit is critical to the success of the way
the pieces work together to keep your body warm without having to double up on outer layer
pieces.
PRÓ – Keeping Dionla 3L Waterproof Suit in your pack for unexpected inclement weather. Being cold
and wet is no fun. One cup of water weighs 1⁄2 a lb. and adds unnecessary weight which can slow
you down if your layer’s wet out. Rain gear is designed to shed water instead of absorbing it
keeping you dry and comfortable.
CON – Believing DWR/C0 is enough to sustain rain without wetting out. DWR/C0 is for additional
protection from rain and is water resistant. It is not waterproof. However, when conditions
become too wet for DWR/C0 to work effectively is when the 3L membrane in Dionla takes over
for waterproof protection.
