Powderhorn Outfitters/Schnee’s in Bozeman…They Just Get It!
August 13th, 2010
Hats off to the Powderhorn Outfitters/Schnee’s in Bozeman, MT!
Why?
Quite simply stated, they get it. They understand that the women’s outdoor and hunting market is special and that this customer must be earned. And earn those customers they do. A recent Ladies Night Out at their downtown Bozeman storefront afforded outdoor-loving women of the area to peruse the store and to speak with manufacturer representatives and staff about gear that is designed expressly for the female outdoor and hunting enthusiast. This personal touch allows women to really ask questions, understand products and purchase gear that will truly deliver the performance needed for their outdoor adventures.
This event, hosted August 12th, was well advertised and well attended. Staff was on hand to assist customers. Wine and appetizers were served and the environment was welcoming. To go the extra mile, the Powderhorn /Schnees crew arranged attendance from manufacturers such as Leica, Prois Hunting & Field Apparel and Bear Spray to be on hand to answer questions about products and assist with identifying gear that will best suit each individual’s needs.
Additional curbside attraction was provided by Rowing for a Cure, a non-profit organization based
in Bozeman. Row for a Cure , spear headed by Robert Eddins of RO Boats in Bozeman , promotes the use of their pink float boat in efforts to raise funds for the Susan G. Koman foundation for breast cancer. This eye-catching pink craft can be spotted in towns across Montana and the west. Community members were able to converse with the Rowing for a Cure crew who even provided a brief fly fishing demonstration for the women attending the Ladies Night Out. For more information about Rowing for a Cure , check them out on Facebook.
I attended this event with Prois pro-staff member and editor of the Women’s Outdoor News, Barb Baird. The event was great. We had a great opportunity to meet the staff of the
Powderhorn/Schnees as well as connect with past Prois customers and friends. From a manufacturer’s perspective, this is a priceless experience as it afforded us the opportunity to really get know the store staff and put faces behind the products. I was impressed with all of the staff- Tom, Les, Keith, Stacy, Jon and Kat run a first class operation that understands the needs of the female outdoor enthusiast. If you have a chance to drop into the store, I highly recommend it.
