11 Point Whitetail Down! Cheryl’s 2007 Buck~

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Cheryl is yet another tough female hunter!  She states, “I am all about promoting hunting for women.  I wish we had more women in my area that were as interested in hunting as myself.  I hunt with my husband and we have made some truly wonderful memories as well as a lot of laughs!  We love hunting  and find that not many couples enjoy this sport together.  It is really too bad.  They should give it a try!”.  By looking at this great buck, Cheryl obviously walks the walk too!  Thanks for the story!

Stephanie harvested this great muley just south of Gunnison, Colorado (Say…isn’t that the home of Prois?) during 2nd season 2007.  Great Job!

Mr. Drop Tines- Radine’s BC Moose

Friday, September 26th, 2008

This is Radine’s pride and joy, as well as the first animal she ever shot.  Here is her story:

“Being a very inexperienced hunter at this time, I learned a lot about patience, following your instincts and having fun!  The exciting thing about this hunt is when I came upon this bachelor group of 3 which were all legal to shoot.  I just had to make up my mind.  Of course, I chose the bull that I didn’t have a clar shot on and had to wait for what felt like an eternity for him to turn.  That said, I HAD to wait because he was Mr. Drop Tines!  There was a young 2 point bull to the left and a bull the same size as Mr. Drop Tines to the right.  The youngest ran off first (smart fella) and the older on meandered off.  Mr Drop TImes remained and seemed unphased by our presence.  He finally turned, I got a shot off and successfully dropped him.
OK- I did scream with glee, which earned me a scolding because the area was thick with Griz.  This hunt was a great success and I owe it all to Carl from Gone Fishin’ in Port Alberni, BC!  Thanks, Carl!  I have felt like a great woman hunter ever since!”
